Long term population trends for America's birds, according to The State of the Birds Report 2025.

Yesterday, a disturbing new report, the 2025 U.S. State of the Birds, finds that U.S. bird population is still declining at an alarming rate. The report was compiled by an alliance of leading science and conservation organizations and released at the 90th annual North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. It documents continued widespread declines in American bird populations across all mainland and marine habitats, and finds that 229 species require urgent conservation action – even as the current White House administration eases some key habitat and bird protection laws.
